About this waterline

6,500 feet is not a climate projection. Melting every glacier and ice sheet on Earth would raise the sea about 230 feet. This globe simply floods today’s terrain — NOAA ETOPO 2022, ice-sheet surface included — up to the line you set. Greenland and Antarctica stay visible because the ice itself is already higher than 6,500 feet. Area totals use the full one-arc-minute grid. A cell on the globe lights up if any ground inside it is still dry, so thin ridges remain visible.
